Accessibility adaptations for Biblio app

Updated on June 23, 2021

Publizon is developing the app Biblio, which is used in libraries to read and listen to digital books. Our goal is for the app to contribute to reading pleasure for all users, regardless of their circumstances. This accessibility statement describes how the Biblio app complies with WCAG 2.1, any known accessibility issues, and how you can report deficiencies to us so we can fix them.

Report shortcomings in the accessibility of the Biblio app
We are constantly striving to improve accessibility in the Biblio app. If you discover issues not described on this page, please notify our Accessibility Champion Tam Johnson tam.johnson@publizon.com

Technical information about availability in Biblio
The Biblio app is mostly compliant with the WCAG 2.1 standard. We are aware of deficiencies in the following areas:

  • Screen Orientation – There is no support for reading in landscape mode (WCAG 1.3.4)
  • Text size – Changed text size in the device does not affect the text in the app (WCAG 1.4.4)
  • Structure – Toggle buttons in filters and in "My loans" do not fit together with their description
(read as two different elements) (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • Input support – Keyboard is not adapted according to input type, e.g. when entering PIN code and
    loan number (WCAG 3.3.4)
  • Alternatives to complex finger movements – On Settings missing option for the Drag slider (WCAG
    2.5.1)

How we have tested Biblio
We have carried out a self-assessment (internal testing) and enlisted the help of an external party with special expertise in accessibility for an independent review. We continuously work to improve technology, design and content and carry out internal tests to increase accessibility.

Plan to correct deficiencies
Publizon works continuously to remedy remaining deficiencies, with the goal of remedying all deficiencies in 2023.
