User data handling in app

We want to offer personal recommendations so that you can more easily find interesting books in the librar's large catalogue. To offer these recommendations, we need to know a bit about you and what you like to read. Therefore, we analyze which books you read, add to lists and favorites; how you have interacted with the suggested books (whether you went in and read more or just moved on) and what preferences you set in your settings regarding book type, language and category.

The following is saved and linked to your library card number:

  • Which books you borrow, when you borrow or reserve them and when you open them.
  • Your last position in each book and any bookmarks you add.
  • Which books you add to your own lists and when you did so.
  • Interactions with suggested books.
  • User preferences you specify in settings such as language, book type and genre.

If you don't want to use this information to give you personalized recommendations, you can always turn it off on the settings page under "Allow recommendations based on usage". We still need to
save information to be able to give you access to the app's functions (such as being able to borrow
and read books) but will not analyze your behavior to give you personalized tips.
